VIP Membership Q & A

My Vision

My consultants in B.C. actually told me that I should be charging much, much more for our classes than I am. When I told them what I would be charging they totally disagreed with me.  As a parent of two young girls, however, I know what it is like trying to do the best for our children, so my goal is to provide a high quality personal development program that is also reasonable for families to afford.  At the same time, I need to cover the high costs of rent, high quality trainers, programs and materials and ensure the business model will be able to grow and advance. 

For our very unique & high quality Character Building Martial Arts and Life and Team Building workshop program, students should attend at least 2 classes per week to assure a consistent learning curve.   Since I am very committed to see this generation of Champions to become black belts and to grow and develop as human beings, if a student chooses to do more classes in a given week, this will only accelerate their training. This is not like hockey, however, that often takes up 5 or more days per week! 2 classes per week is optimum, with 3 or more providing a slight edge improvement.  (Actually, I trained a children’s hockey league who wanted to improve their game and skating abilities from martial arts.  Elvis Stojko, as you may or may not know, is a black belt and his martial arts skills are what allowed him to become a world champion figure skater.  Colleagues of mine have met him at various martial art kata competitions, and he continues to advance in his martial arts training.)

Question: How do I benefit with a VIP Membership?

Answer: For one, from a cost perspective. Three (3) KickSMART classes per week (a class period is defined as a 45 minute period) in a 4.2 week month = 12.6 classes per month = $11.82 per class.  At 8 classes per week, this works out to ONLY $4.43 per class!  *(This is with our current 25% Membership Discount offer.)  This is much less than our currently discounted standard $33 per class rate.  The BBI (Black Belt Institute’s) current rate for the children’s standard karate class alone is approximately $30 (or more) per 45 minute class.

We also have monthly VIP Workshop classes with special guests and / or Special Workshop Sessions.  These workshop classes are no additional charge for VIP Members.

So – VIP Membership is actually very, very cost effective.

Question:  Besides cost, what are the other benefits of VIP Membership?

Question: What if I will be away or can attend a class but would like to continue my training?

Answer:  We now have our training curriculum listed on our web site. We should also have video by 2009, so parents and / or Champions can have internet video access so that martial arts training can be watched and followed remotely. Students / parents can simply log into a secure website where they can watch and participate with a class, and also have access to pre-recorded training videos. I know of martial art companies that have built their main business of offering virtual training classes, and it is a very effective training tool.

Membership Renewals & Vacation Time

KickSMART runs year round.  Membership billing continues year round for Memberships.  If you wish to take a month off from the regular weekend / weekday workshops (such as July or August), then notify us, and we will simply add this time (1 month) to the backend of your membership.

All memberships are 12 month auto-renewal.  You must contact us two months prior to the expiry date if you do not wish to continue the membership.
 

OPTION OF NOT RENEWING

Keeping your membership active will assure you get preferred pricing and avoid any program re-activation fees. VIP rates will be going up, so ensuring your membership is renewed "locks in" your rates. Our consulting company in B.C., has been telling us for some time that since we are positioned as an Life Skills Academy, with our curriculum focused of Child Charter Development & Team & Life Building Skills, we should really be charging about twice our current rates. We will not likely raise rates to those levels any time soon, but there will likely be increases over time simply to ensure we can maintain a proper program.  By ensuring your membership is active will ensure your rates will not go up.
