Personal
Health: We
know the importance of good personal health of our mind and body, but how
do we motivate picky eaters to eat the right foods or encourage a child
who hates sports to exercise? Also, how do we inspire children to want to
read more or take care of their personal hygiene? In this month’s
age-specific character lessons, we’ll tackle these issues while making
the learning process fun.

Team
Canada Medal Winners!

Did
you know that Toronto has
placed a bid to host the 2015 Pan Am Games? Will your Champion be there??
Personal Health: Here is a regarding children
and personal health based on age:
With children ages 3
and 4; they are learning healthy words such as energy and
strength. Teach them how to relate good eating and exercise with words
that relate to positive health.
- With children ages 5 and 6;
they are starting to learn bad habits from good habits. Teach them how to
choose healthy eating and exercise over bad eating and laziness.
- With children ages 7 and 9;
they are starting to having a liking for things that are trendy including
foods. Teach them how to not follow the crowd when the “trendy” thing to
do is bad for your health.
- With children ages 10 and up;
they are starting to be very concerned about their image. Teach them how
to create good habits that will help control their weight, energy, skin,
and brain power.
Personal Health: Childhood is the time when children begin
to build habits related to hygiene, healthy eating, exercising, as well
as learning how to have a healthy mind. As Martial Arts instructors, we
have the opportunity to influence a positive foundation on personal
health in children. Let your students “catch” you eating fruits and
exercising during the month. Keep in mind, the best way to teach is to
lead by example, so if your students see you eating healthy foods and
exercising then they will be more likely to follow your lead!
Help tomorrow's leaders build personla
health and the benefits will be immeasurable.
